For many, cosmetic surgery provides a huge confidence boost. Cosmetic or plastic surgery can restore youth and improve the balance and proportion of your face and body.

Here are some of the procedures you can find at our clinics.

Botox Sunshine Coast

Over the years, Botox has proven to be one of the most popular and most effective ways to regain facial tautness and reduce wrinkles, especially crow’s feet (wrinkles from repeated squinting) and frown lines. It is the only approved treatment for these types of problems.

Botox is injected into muscles beneath the forehead and eye area. The drug is created from a neurotoxin called Botulinum produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. It works by temporarily paralyzing and reducing movement of muscles that cause wrinkles and lines. Moreover, botox is used not only for cosmetic purposes; doctors may administer the drug to treat problems like excessive sweating, migraines, bladder disorders, and muscular disorders.

While botox is an effective drug both in terms of its cosmetic and medical purposes, it is associated with certain risks and hazards like mild pain, headache, mild nausea, malaise, temporary paralysis, neck weakness, dysphagia, flu-like symptoms, double vision, rashes, and wheezing. These problems occur with unregulated versions of Botox. Given these risks, it is absolutely important that you check with your cosmetic surgeon or plastic surgeon to verify the source and safety of your medicines. Moreover, you should clear all your medical history (especially allergies) with your attending cosmetic surgeon.

Dermal Fillers Sunshine Coast

Like Botox, dermal fillers are used to ease laugh lines and smoothen out wrinkles. In a nutshell, they try to reverse the signs of facial aging. However, the two work differently and are used for different areas in the face. While Botox paralyzes muscles associated to aging, Dermal Fillers add volume by filling hollows in the facial area.

They are used for a number of things including: adding volume and creating smoothness in the nose and mouth area, enhancing cheek plumpness, filling out hollows around the eyes, evening out chicken pox or acne scars, and filling out the lips for a fuller and plumper mouth.

Dermal fillers come in two main varieties, naturally derived and synthetic. Typically, the effects of the treatment last anywhere between six-months to a couple of years. Although there have been stories of them lasting longer, any evidence so far is purely anecdotal. Naturally derived Dermal Fillers last anywhere from six to eighteen months, while synthetic fillers stay for a year or two.

Dysport Sunshine Coast

A competitor of Botox, Dysport also makes use of the Botulinum neurotoxin, particularly abobotulinumtoxinA (or Botulinum toxin type A). Botox and Dysport are strikingly similar; in several double-blind clinical studies, neither patients nor doctors were able to tell the two apart. Some of the cited differences between the two have yet to be validated by scientific studies

Dysport is smaller than Botox per molecule, meaning a larger volume of the former ir required to render the same effect. The consensus among physicians is that Dysport has a slightly quicker onset (two to five days vs. four to seven days for Botox) and better diffusion than Botox. Although some say that Dysport does not last as long as Botox, these claims are still being studied and debated.

The drug is seen as a welcome addition to a market that has long been monopolized by Botox. Because the two drugs are so similar, patients can now choose depending on price and quality. Moreover, because there is not much difference between the two drugs, the most important factor in ensuring the success of the surgery is the skill of the attending surgeon.

Lip Enhancement Sunshine Coast

Lip Enhancement or Lip Augmentation is a cosmetic procedure for adding fullness and volume to the lips. Those born with thin lips can improve their overall look by creating a plumper, healthier looking aesthetic.

Lip Fillers Sunshine Coast are used during lip enhancement or lip augmentation procedures. Most lip enhancement is done by injecting hyaluronic acid to the lip area. Back in the days, most doctors used collagen; however, hyaluronic fillers have proven to yield better results, better patient experience, and less complications.

Because lips are sensitive, cosmetic and plastic surgeons usually apply local anaesthetic before the procedure. Following the procedure, patients may experience swelling, tenderness, and bruising for about six to ten days.

Cheek Fillers Sunshine Coast

Cheek Fillers are inserted to enhance cheekbones and add contour to the facial area. After local anaesthetic is applied, fat (usually taken from the hips or buttocks) or silicone implants are inserted in an incision either inside the mouth or under the eyes.

Having Cheek Fillers strategically placed can streamline your facial area and highlight your better features. People who have cheek augmentation have more pronounced cheekbones and fuller cheeks.

While the recovery period can set you back seven to ten days, the effects are semi-permanent, requiring only a few follow up checkups with your attending physican once or twice a year.

With the variety of options out there, it is absolutely important to find a surgeon with skill and experience. After all, you want everything to go as smoothly as possible.
